Jordi Torres, champion of the MotoE World Cup

20 Sep 2021

We started our partnership with Pons Racing in the best way. Congratulations to Jordi Torres who took the title of MotoE 2021 World Champion.

Great and festive sunday for the HP Pons 40 team. Today the team led by Sito Pons has once again become, for the second consecutive year, the MotoE World Cup Champion thanks to an excellent Jordi Torres, who revalidates the title with the team.

After the assault on the title that began yesterday with the victory in the first of the two races of the weekend, Jordi Torres started today with the intention of repeating the victory and achieving the champion title. From the first position, the rider of the HP Pons 40 has started very well and has begun to open a gap with his rivals. Little by little he increased the gap and consolidated the first position, until Aegerter, his rival for the title, reduced the distance with two laps to go. At that moment, Aegerter has tried everything to overcome Torres but was defending himself from all his attacks. But already on the last lap and with few corners to go, an overtaking beyond the limits of the Swiss rider has brought Torres to the ground, unable to avoid contact and with the Swiss rider straight to victory and the title. Torres lifted the bike and after a noble gesture from Iwema, who waited for him to cross the finish line and letting him add one more point in the general clas sification, he crossed the finish line in thirteenth position.

At that time, Race Director opened an investigation into the incident and decided to penalize Aegerter with 38 seconds, thus taking away his victory and title. A totally correct decision and that has thus given the title to Jordi Torres. Once again, the rider and the team have managed to revalidate the title of champions of the MotoE World Cup in another excellent season, with a victory and 4 podiums in the seven races contested.

We are happy to announce the new partnership with PONS Racing in Moto2 and MotoE. For our customers the Fps Experience will be more and more exclusive and exciting.
