Two points for Alcoba in Austrian GP

16 Aug 2021

Team Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3 does not shine in the second of two back-to-back events at Spielberg, with Jeremy Alcoba only 14th and Gabriel Rodrigo 20th at the finish line.

If Rodrigo’s race was already compromised  due to the two penalties received yesterday by race direction (pit-lane start and long-lap penalty after the incidents with Yamanaka and Suzuki), there were surely higher expectations for Alcoba.

The Spanish rider, who was starting from the front row of the grid after another brilliant qualifying performance, was unable to capitalise as he lost touch with the front group and finished with two points under his belt – despite a long-lap penalty. He is now tenth in the standings with 52 points, one ahead of his teammate.
