Taking a chanche did not pay off at Spielberg

9 Aug 2021

The first of two Austrian weekends for Team Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3 – FPS Automation branded ends up empty-handed for Jeremy Alcoba and Gabriel Rodrigo, who could not finish higher than 18th and 20th today as Spielberg – two negative results that arrived in very different ways.

Jeremy Alcoba got a great start and at turn two he is already inside the top eight, but few laps are enough to show that the feeling with these conditions is far from ideal. The Spaniard does not have confidence in the rear-end of his bike, which prevents him from capitalising on the work done this weekend – which saw him up to fourth place at some stage.

A completely different story for Gabriel Rodrigo who took a big gamble – which did not work in his favour. After the warm-up, the Argentine opts for slick tyres and tries to surprise everyone. Other four-five riders did the same, but the lack of wind did not allow the track to dry in ime.

Both riders will be able to try again, again at Red Bull Ring, in the #AustrianGP.
