Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3 unable to capitalise at Assen

28 Jun 2021

There is no need to hide it: the expectations for today’s race were a lot higher, especially in light of yesterday’s excellent qualifying performance which saw Jeremy Alcoba claiming pole position while Gabriel Rodrigo earned a spot on the second row of the grid. Rodrigo’s eighth place at the line, two positions ahead of Alcoba leave a bitter taste in the team’s mouth before the summer break.

The race was a very quick one and neither of the Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3, FPS Automation branded, riders had the pace to battle at the front of the field. Still, the valuable points earned today put Rodrigo and Alcoba eighth and night in the standings, respectively – separated by only one point.

The Moto3 World Championship will now enter the summer break and will return to action at Spielberg on early August for the first of two back to back races at the Austrian track.
